Little Jobs Privacy Policy
Summary
Little Jobs does not send any personal information to us. Your charts are saved on your device. There is no account, no server of ours, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. If your phone’s backup is on, the app’s data can be part of your own Google or iCloud backup, which we can’t see (section 3). The app connects to the App Store or Google Play only for the purchase. On Android, Google’s Play Billing library may send diagnostic information to Google when it connects (section 6).
1. What we collect
We collect nothing. There is no sign-up or login. The app has no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting software in it, and it makes no network requests to us.
2. What is stored on your device
- The kids you add: a nickname, a chosen animal and a color
- Jobs, rewards, stars and which jobs were done on which day
- Settings: the grown-up PIN (stored only as a short scrambled code, not as the PIN itself), the day the free trial started, whether Little Jobs is unlocked, reminder times, and other app settings such as calm mode
The app never asks for photos, birthdays, ages, gender, location or contacts. The data stays in the app’s own storage on the device and is deleted when you delete the app. A backup your phone already made to your own account can stay there, depending on your backup settings (section 3).
3. Backups and moving to a new device
Backup file. Only when you tap “Save a backup file”, the app makes a file (little-jobs-backup-DATE.json) and hands it to your phone’s share sheet. You choose where it goes. The file contains your kids’ nicknames and charts. To restore, you pick a file with your phone’s file picker; the app reads only the file you pick. The unlock is not in the backup file; it comes back with “Restore purchase” from your store account.
Your phone’s own backup. If Google backup (Android) or iCloud backup (iPhone and iPad) is on, your phone can include the app’s data in a backup to your own account and move it to a new device. That backup is in your account only. We can’t see it.
4. Printing and PDF
Only when you tap “Save or share PDF” or “Print”, the app makes the chart on the device and hands it to your phone’s share sheet or print screen. Where it goes from there, such as a printer, a messaging app or a cloud drive, is your choice, and that service’s own privacy policy applies.
5. Reminders
Reminders are off until you turn them on. When you turn one on, the app asks your phone for permission to show notifications and schedules the reminder on the device. While a reminder is on and the free trial is running, the app also schedules one note for the evening when 3 free days are left. There is no push notification service: nothing is sent to us or to any notification server, and reminders do not include your kids’ names. On Android, the app sets the reminders again after the phone restarts.
6. In-app purchase
The App Store or Google Play handles the payment. We receive no payment details, name or email. Restoring a purchase is also handled by the store, using your store account.
The app connects to the store only:
- when you open the unlock screen
- when you tap “Restore purchase”
- on the last setup screen, to show the price (on iPhone and iPad, also to receive the free 14-day trial)
- when the app opens or comes back on screen, only if a purchase still needs to be finished or you opened the unlock screen in the last 7 days
The Android app includes Google’s Play Billing library. When it connects to Google Play, it may send diagnostic information about how the library is working to Google. This does not include your charts or your kids’ nicknames. Google handles it under its privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. On iPhone and iPad, purchases go through Apple: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.
7. Rating request
After a grown-up approves the first reward, the app may ask your phone to show the store’s own rating prompt once. Apple or Google shows and handles it.
8. Links
The privacy policy, the help page and our email address open only when you tap them, in your browser or mail app.
9. Children
Little Jobs is made for parents to use with their kids. We do not collect information from anyone, including children. Kids’ nicknames stay on the device. There are no ads. Payment and settings sit behind a grown-up step (the PIN, or press and hold).
10. Permissions
Android:
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Internet (INTERNET) | Connecting to Google Play for the purchase |
| Google Play billing (com.android.vending.BILLING) | Buying and restoring the one-time unlock |
| View network connections (ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE) | The Play Billing library checks whether the phone is online |
| Show notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS) | Reminders, asked only when you turn one on |
| Run at startup (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED) | Setting your reminders again after the phone restarts |
| com.danorie.chorechart.DYNAMIC_RECEIVER_NOT_EXPORTED_PERMISSION | Used only inside the app by Android’s own components; no other app can use it |
Little Jobs does not use the advertising ID, camera, microphone, location, contacts or shared storage. On iPhone and iPad, the only permission prompt is for notifications, and it appears only when you turn on a reminder. Restoring a backup uses the system file picker, which shows no permission prompt.
11. Changes
If this policy changes, we will post the new version on this page and mention it in the app’s update notes.
